Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.

Journey “under the sea” this spring with North Paulding High School’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories, Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr is a delightful production adapted from Disney’s Broadway production and the motion picture.
For ONE NIGHT ONLY, join Ariel and her aquatic friends in their magical underwater kingdom as she learns what the world above is like and the sacrifices she must make for love and acceptance.
Madi Kelly is a senior and plays ‘Ariel.’ She’s been involved in theatre since she was seven and loves that “when you’re on stage, nothing else matters. All you can do is be present in the moment and I think that’s beautiful.” Madi has performed in numerous shows including A Doll’s House, High School Musical, Shrek the Musical and directed The Cripple of Inishmaan. Also at NPHS, Madi is in the National Thespian Society, BETA, and the National Honors and National Spanish Honors Societies. In the fall she plans to attend LSU and study Theatre and Psychology. Madi is the daughter of Ashlea and Shawn Kelly.
Chandler Clark portrays ‘King Triton’ and the son of Amanda and Jeremy Clark. He is a senior at North, and started performing in theatre his junior year. Chandler loves the great friends he’s made in the theatre community, along with the “outlet to express myself without concern for what people may think.” He has performed in Footloose, High School Musical, Mary Poppins and is excited about being in The Little Mermaid. Also at NPHS, he played football and has a passion for weightlifting. He is currently undecided on college, but hopes to one day open his own gym.
Alex Gilbert plays ‘Prince Eric.’ He is a senior, and his parents are Jane Watkins and Patrick Gilbert. Alex has been performing in theater since he was nine, and “likes the idea of fleshing out a character, giving them personality, and becoming that persona on stage.” At NPHS he’s been in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Footloose, directed High School Musical, and participates in the NPHS Choir. Alex has also performed in Mary Poppins and Oklahoma at The Grand Theatre in Cartersville. After graduation, he plans to attend college to study Theatre.
Jeffrey Noelette is ‘Sebastian.’ This is Jeffrey’s first year in theatre at North, and was previously in High School Musical. He likes the people and the atmosphere [of theatre] where “the amount of passion and hard work people put in to make sure the production is as perfect as can be.” At NPHS, Jeffrey is a junior and a member of the football team. He is still deciding on his future plans, but knows he will figure it out. His parents are Judith Milien and Franklin Noelette.
Madison Ricci plays “Ursula.” She is a junior and her parents are Elizabeth and Charles Ricci. She has been in theatre since the 5th grade and her performances include Charlotte’s Web, Jr., Shrek the Musical and Anything Goes at The Grand Theatre; The Frog Prince and Pinocchio with Act 1; and Thoroughly Modern MillieA Doll’s House and the One Act at NPHS. Madison enjoys performing and watching people do what they are passionate about. She says, “There is nothing more fulfilling than being in something you are proud of.”  She also plays the piano and sings in the school chorus. After high school, she plans to attend college.
The Little Mermaid’s ensemble of performers and crew are very excited to bring this show to life with the use of vibrantly colored sets, talented actors and puppetry arts. They are led by NPHS Theater Director – Dianna Long; Student Director – Mya Mimoso, Stage Manager – Emma Chalmers; Music Directors – Hannah Selvaggi and Madison Hamilton; Choreographers – Emma Bush and Victoria Marsha; Backstage Director – Katie Bush; Sound Tech – Kenny Cooley; and Light Tech – Emily Williams.
