Community Spotlight – Warehouse of Hope

By: Emma Finger

Warehouse of HopeWarehouse of Hope is more than just your local food bank. We are blessed to be able to serve 600-800 families a week that are in need; but we do so much more. So far this year, we’ve had 170 individuals turn their lives over to Christ during our First Time Guest Orientation.

We partner with Terence Lester who started "Love Beyond Walls." This ministry helps take care of the homeless in the city limits of Atlanta. Love Beyond Walls not only helps these individuals with food but also gives them a place to shower, get clean clothes, and a free haircut.

We partner with Destination Church in Waycross, Georgia. They serve 200+ families weekly with their food bank.

We collect and recycle used cell phones to be able to dig wells in Burkina Fauso, Africa.

Partnering with Must Ministries, we served 2,700 children this summer through our Summer Lunch Program. We are also able to help Paulding County Schools with their Back Pack Program. This program sends food and snacks home with children who receive free lunches or reduced lunches so they have food to eat on the weekends and during the summer. For over 20 years, by the grace of God, and through our supporters, we have been able to expand.

All of this started with Founder Craig Parson. He felt God leading him to do more for our community. One simple verse changed everything. 1John 3:17 “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” After he had a heart attack, at age 36, he realized very quickly how we are all only one life event away from everything falling apart. We all fall on hard times and bad things happen to good people. Sometimes all you need is a little help from someone, somewhere, to get back on your feet.

That is what we hope to be here at Warehouse of Hope. We want to be the hands and feet of Christ. Be the place you come to when things get hard. There is always hope even in the darkest moments in our lives. What we do wouldn’t be possible without the help and donations from people just like you.

We are able to assist clients with food, clothing, baby diapers, adult diapers, toiletry items, and many other things. To receive assistance we need first time guests to attend one of our orientations which are held Mondays and Fridays at 10:00am or Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm.We take any gently used donations! All donations are tax deductible. We are always in desperate need of volunteers. We are also approved to take community service workers.

If you know of anyone who could benefit from our services or if you would like to help us serve the community by either volunteering or donating please contact us:
